I didn't think it was possible here, but school was called off early for tomorrow! And the snow keeps coming down at a good rate. Haven't been able to keep up with shoveling, as I only got 1/3 of the job done the 4th time I went out to shovel this evening, in only 90 minutes time. It's nice to see this kind of snow, it really is.
I shoveled yesterday, then another inch fell overnight, on top of the 5-6" we got yesterday. Schools were closed yesterday and today, maybe even tomorrow.
I knew we would have today off, but I highly doubt tomorrow  :pinch:

Man, I hate comment voting on youtube. I made a typo in a comment I made on a local forecast uploaded from Flint, and got a nasty reply to it. I then remove the comment and repost the edited comment, which was then marked as spam.  <_<

I really like it so far.

Stephen in Pensacola is under a Winter Storm Warning

There were computer models showing them getting snow for awhile now, but I'm still shocked to actually see anything being issued. I went under a Winter Storm Watch a couple of hours ago.

School has also been canceled for the area, and there has even been reports of sleet pellets and snow flakes already. O_o (nothing major... yet)

This winter sure has been a strange one for everybody, and we still got two more months to go.

It sure has! It's also has been persistently COLD this winter, one of the coldest we have seen in several years.

Sorry I haven't kept you all updated on the weather here...I had school today.

The Dallas-Fort Worth area smashed a record of total snowfall today...8.7 inches of snow in one day. :thrilled: This broke an old record of 7.8 inches. I, and many others, have never seen ANYTHING like this...it has snowed for almost 20 hours straight, and the stuff is still coming down.

Be sure to check in the Dallas/Fort Worth weather thread tomorrow for more info. Yes, Patrick, this has definetely been an unusual winter for DFW.

Yeah, I'm not going to... too much hype and advertisement for my taste :P
I will not be happy if TWC simulcasts it...

The opening ceremony lasts from 7:30 PM to midnight according to NBC's schedule, so I don't think TWC would do a full simulcast.  However, an opening ceremony itself is quite interesting to watch as the host country gets to show to the world their unique culture and taste, and you get to see the "parade of the nations".  I usually tune in during the last couple hours to catch the better parts, including the lighting of the Olympic flame.

Opening ceremony of the Olympics was great except for the end. Mechanical failure with the first cauldron and just plain ugly design in my opinion put a damper on things.

I guess I am the only one in my family who will not be watching the olympic coverage in the next couple of weeks...

Just an FYI, but I will probably start gaining interest in TWC again now that I can record clips again! :shades:
